Even in the Bible there were disputes. In the Bible discussions, we want to look at the disputes of important biblical characters. As we read, we will discover that they can also become a mirror for ourselves.
Explorations on Jews, Gentiles and the One God in the Acts of the Apostles- Lecture and discussion with Prof. Dr. Manuel Vogel, University of Jena.
There are many disputes and conflicts in the first communities that believed in the Messiah, in which Jews and people from different nations came together: Which Jewish commandments and rules should be binding for everyone and what can be dispensed with? What can eating and celebrating together after the service look like? Prof Manuel Vogel will introduce us to the variety of controversial issues at the time of the first Jewish-Christian communities and show how compromises were negotiated so that Jews and non-Jews who believed in the Messiah were together for longer than previously assumed.
