Guided Tour: Hidden rooms – open doors.

Francke needed a lot of space: for prayer meetings, for gatherings, for eating, for storing paper, for straw bales... On the tour with civil engineer Steffen Jakob, we will look at all of these rooms, some of which are not open to the public, from an architectural perspective. What are their structural features, how are their functions reflected in their design? How are they used today?

Guided Tour: Historic production facilities on the foundation grounds.

The self-sufficiency of the Glaucha institutions, with around 2,000 people, necessitated numerous production facilities. In addition to facilities for daily needs such as a bakery and brewery, commercial enterprises were also established, such as silkworm breeding and laboratories for dispensing medication. On a tour with Claudia Weiß and Prof. Dr. Holger Zaunstöck, we explore these places and their history through the buildings and old plans.
