Career

For over 300 years, the Francke Foundations have been shaping August Hermann Francke's ideas in a contemporary way as a vibrant cultural and educational cosmos. Would you like to help shape the future? Then discover our current job vacancies here – we look forward to receiving your application!

Internship

The Francke Foundations offer numerous internship opportunities at their institutions on an ongoing basis. These are generally designed to accompany training programmes and should be planned for a minimum duration of three weeks. As internship positions are not explicitly advertised, we welcome unsolicited applications at any time. We are looking for versatile individuals who are enthusiastic about working in the fields of cultural education, teaching or historical-scientific work and who are conscientious, flexible and able to work in a team.

In the area of communication and events, we offer a six-month internship alongside your studies. Here you will gain insight into all areas of public relations and marketing. Internships at the Francke Foundations are generally unpaid.

Traineeship

The Francke Foundations offer university graduates the opportunity to complete a research internship in various fields of work. We offer internships in areas such as exhibitions and curation, public relations and publishing at the Francke Foundations. These are usually limited to two years. Applications are only possible in response to specific job advertisements.

Voluntary service

A voluntary social year (FSJ), federal voluntary service (BFD) or voluntary ecological year (FÖJ) offers a unique opportunity to try something new over a longer period of time, gain learning experiences, turn a long-cherished idea into reality or reorient yourself.

We offer places for voluntary service in our daycare centres, after-school care centres, family competence centre, Krokoseum, plant garden and Francke08 sports club. At all of our locations, you will find attentive and experienced contact persons. You will become part of the team at the facility and are invited to contribute your energy and ideas for a year.

If you are interested in voluntary service, please contact our human resources department.

Volunteering

There are many areas of our cultural and social work where you can support us with your voluntary work. At the Krokoseum or the Family Centre, children and families can be empowered through your active assistance. Volunteers can run or accompany educational or creative activities, supervise learning aids or be actively involved as family mentors. Volunteer work is also possible in the exhibition area, in the library and archive, and in the field of public relations. We are particularly happy to welcome volunteer tour guides who show our guest groups around the Francke Foundations. This form of engagement already existed in Francke's day and is still called ‘Herumführer’ (tour guide) today.

You will receive a volunteer contract, we offer good support and networking with full-time and volunteer staff in all areas of work, and we would be delighted if you could join us at our celebrations. In the area of volunteering, we work closely with the Halle Volunteer Agency.

Are you interested? Our colleagues in the Human Resources department will be happy to answer any questions you may have.
