The Kammermusikverein Halle e. V. was founded in 1990 by chamber music enthusiasts with the aim of continuing the chamber music series ‘Stunde der Musik’ (Hour of Music), which had been running since 1952. In this traditional concert series, which is highly regarded by chamber music audiences and music connoisseurs alike, six concerts per season feature high-ranking, nationally and internationally sought-after soloists and ensembles with sophisticated programmes. The well-attended concerts have a dignified performance setting in the Freylinghausen Hall and are integrated into the cultural programme of the Francke Foundations.
