First Winter Farm Day in Stichelsdorf!

Families, children and grandparents are familiar with the Stichelsdorf estate of the Francke Foundations thanks to the popular farm days. This year's series of events kicks off on Saturday, 24 January 2026, at 1 p.m. with the first winter farm day under the motto »Animals in Winter«. An adventurous treasure hunt on this theme will take visitors through the wintery grounds. There will be a campfire with music and warming punch. Delicious cakes and hot drinks will be available in the warm hall.

Children will also have the opportunity to do crafts with wool from the sheep that live on site and mix bird feed for the birds. Those interested in the history of the Stiftsgut can take part in a short guided tour of the grounds.

Winter Farm Day is organised by the Francke Foundations and the Halle Children's Farm, which has been based at the Stiftsgut Stichelsdorf since autumn 2023. It is part of the project »KoMoNa: Oasis of Sustainability at the Stichelsdorf estate«, which is being implemented thanks to funding from the programme »Municipal Model Projects for the Implementation of Ecological Sustainability Goals in Regions of Structural Change (KoMoNa)« of the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Climate Protection, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMUKN). »Zukunft – Umwelt – Gesellschaft« (ZUG) is managing the funding programme as project sponsor on behalf of the BMUKN.
