Attending selected lectures and seminars, learning together with young students and being active oneself in various projects and courses - for over 30 years the Lifelong Learning College of the University of Halle has been giving people beyond retirement age the opportunity to participate in academic life and occupy themselves with scholarship. The participants in the College appreciate the encounters between young and old during courses or in the Francke Foundations’ refectory (mensa) as much as the opportunities for advanced education. The College for Senior Citzens has maintained good relations with the Francke Foundations for many years. It is based on the Foundations’ premises, where numerous events and projects take place.
