As a cultural foundation under public law, the Francke Foundations offer a wide range of opportunities to get up close and personal with historical topics. With the new History Lab Pre-Modern Times (in German only), we would like to invite students, especially those in upper secondary school, to use the example of the Francke Foundations to explore historical topics, acquire methodological skills and gain new perspectives on various professional fields. History professors as well as our librarians, archivists and museum experts are available for this purpose.
1 Location, 3 Days, 6 Practical Modules
Participants visit the Francke Foundations for 1-3 days and are introduced to the working fields of historians based on a thematic focus of early modern history (e.g. early Enlightenment, global history, history of education, etc.). In up to 6 practical modules of 180 minutes each, the topic is prepared from different perspectives of academic work. Experts from the research department, the archives, the library and the museum will be on hand in the LeoLab to provide impulse lectures, guided tours, discussion rounds and workshop sequences.
We now invite school classes and groups from all over Germany to register for the practical modules!
