Views of Halle from the collection of Dr. Hans Stula
In the autumn of 2014, by way of a generous donation from the passionate collector of Hallensia, Dr. Hans Stula, the Francke Foundations acquired an extensive collection of historical views depicting Halle both on paper and on porcelain. Selected objects from this rich collection will now be made permanently available to the public in a new exhibition at the Francke House. Graphic works with views of the Francke Foundations in relation to the City of Halle dating from between the late seventeenth century and the late nineteenth century will be on display. They document the continuous change of the expanding city. During the nineteenth century porcelain painting became popular. Dr. Hans Stula’s porcelain collection presents us with magnificent showpieces with views of the Foundations and the town.
The exhibition in the Francke House blends as a further element into the cultural and historical permanent exhibitions of the Foundations.
