Integration & Work gGmbH
Founded in the spring of 2003, this non-profit integration organisation seeks to improve the participation of disadvantaged people in the labour market. From 2012 on it has operated under the aegis of the Lebenshilfe e.V. Halle. People with and without a disability work jointly in small work teams and receive assistance from trained instructors. Integration and Work employees are active mainly as cleaners in buildings and as dishwashers, carry out light janitorial services, or work as museum attendants. A large part of these activities take place within the Francke Foundations or in the surrounding city. Clients of Integration and Work include the Francke Foundations, the Student Union Halle, the Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg and the Evangelical Seminary.
As an integrational organisation, Integration and Work creates the framework for people who will probably find it extremely difficult to find employment on the open labour market either due to the nature and severity of their disability or to other circumstances, even after all funding opportunities have been exhausted and despite the efforts of professional integration services (Social Security Statutes IX, paragraph 132, subparagraph 1).
