The Kammermusikverein Halle e.V. was founded in 1990 by interested friends of chamber music in order to to continue the chamber music concert series Stunde der Musik which had been in existence since 1952. The series with six concerts each season has become a tradition and is highly esteemed by chamber music lovers and music experts. Soloists and ensembles of high national and international repute present top-class programmes. The concerts in the worthy ambiente of the Freylinghausen Hall draw a large audience and are integrated in the Francke Foundations’ cultural programme. The society now has 60 members and is part of the Halle Music Council (Hallesche Musikrat e.V.) Its managing board works on a purely voluntary basis. New members, especially students and young people, are welcome. All those interested are warmly invited to the concerts which take place from October to March. Tickets can be purchased for a single concert or as a subscription for the entire series. The programm of each concert season is announced in a flyer lying out before the first concert in numerous public institutions.
High artistic quality has its price. The fees and donations of members, the income generated by concert subscriptions and ticket sales and the – decreasing - subsidies no longer suffice to cover the artists’ fees and extra costs. In order to be able to continue this highclass traditional concert series after more than 60 years, the Kammermusikverein Halle e.V. increasingly needs sponsorship and donations and is grateful for every financial support.
