Take the exit “Halle” from the A9 or the exit “Peißen” from the A14 and drive along the B100 in the direction of “Halle Zentrum.” Follow the signs “alle Richtungen” (all directions) on the B6 (Volkmannstrasse) and continue towards “Zentrum.” Exit the B6 on the Riebeckplatz roundabout proceeding in the direction of “Zentrum/Eisleben” and follow the sign “Franckesche Stiftungen.”
Upon arrival on the B80 from the direction of Eisleben, follow the sign “Halle.” Having crossed the Saale River, take the first exit to your right on the Glauchaer Platz and then follow the sign “Franckesche Stiftungen.”
Please use official parking spaces or the nearby multi-storey parking facilities. The Foundations’ grounds are closed to private traffic.
From the central station Hauptbahnhof Halle (Saale) it takes approximately 15 minutes to reach the Francke Foundations on foot.
Please follow the sign “Innenstadt” (town centre) in the pedestrian area. At the traffic lights next to the Leipziger Turm, turn half left onto the Waisenhausring. The Foundations’ Long House can now been seen on the left. Continue along the Waisenhausring until you reach Franckeplatz, where you will find the main entrance to the Foundations.
Arrival by public transport
From the main train station (Hauptbahnhof Halle/Saale) take either tram 4 (direction Kröllwitz), 9 (direction Göttinger Bogen) or 7 (direction Kröllwitz) to the tram stop “Franckeplatz”. The Historic Orphanage of the Francke is located opposite this tram stop, to the left.
From the town centre take trams 1, 3, 7, 16 or 18 from the market place (Marktplatz) in the direction of “Süden” (south) in order to reach Franckeplatz. From the tram stop the Historic Orphanage of the Francke Foundations is just a few metres further on the left.
